Description

True to its kind, a solitary Ardea alba (Great Egret) silently stalks its prey in the shallows of a dark backwater.

This dark and brooding nature photograph was shot along the shore of Lake Cathie, NSW, Australia.

Canon EOS D60 & Canon 28-135 USM IS Lens: RAW, f/5.6 @ 1/250sec, 115mm, ISO 100, Hand held.
Lightroom 2.2 & Photoshop CS3.

Superb shot Dennis, the dof is great, the contrast between the subject and the landscape is brilliant and the deep blacks and detailed textures are very nice. A very nice shot that is very interesting and pleasing to look at. #1240074
