An amazing exposure to capture all the details in the feathers. Awesome work Dick! #1191905

Donna, thank you so much. I'm preparing to enter a photo contest dealing with wading birds and have been busy reviewing and refining this spring's images for submittal. I don't know why I've overlooked this work. There were several days where clouds subdued the light and gave me an opportunity to really appreciate this wonderful f/2.8L prime lens by Canon. I'm shooting wide open here because of the 2X extender. With the extender I'm effectively shooting at 960mm. I'll have several more displayed in the next few days if you'd care to check in.

Nice hearing from you Donna. #8034965

Thank you PiperAnne, Tess, Bonnie, and Kara for your comments. I've never won a contest here, and I'm hopeful that my luck and skills will improve before I resort to basket weaving as an outlet for my expressions.

I make the annual trek down and across Florida every spring in pursuit of these beautiful wading birds during mating season. Getting to learn their habits has been quite an experience.
