Comfort in the Pines

Uploaded: March 27, 2005

Description

The Sparrow, sitting on the outer edges of a pine tree on a moderately warm March day. They come to the edges when the sun is warm to soak up the heat of the sun. Taken In Calgary, Alberta, I very much enjoy photographing these little guys. With so many varieties, truly no two are alike.

John,
I have been looking at all your beautiful pictures. Wow! I love pictures of birds and hope to get some fantastic shots like yours with my new Nikon D70S. You certainly make me want to go out and take pictures! I assume from all the shots in/around Calgary that you live in that area. I look forward to visiting there in the next few years. Thanks for sharing your fantastic pictures.

Carol,
Thank you for the very kind comments regarding this photo and my Gallery, much appreciated. Yes, all of the photos were captured in and around Calgary, including the Mountain shots which are from the Canadian Rockies and more specifically the Kananaskis and Banff areas, located 1-1 1/2 hours west of Calgary. If you do in fact travel to Calgary be sure and allow time to visit Banff/Jasper and explore the all the wondeful opporunties that hey present. As with any other outdoor photo op, shooting in the mountains is magic at both sunrise and sunset.

Regards,

John #2994883
