Pining for Spring

Uploaded: March 20, 2005

Description

Nikkor 70-300 D ( 300 mm ),1/30, 5.6
This little fellow was sitting on the outer edge of a pine tree, taking in some warm afternoon sun. The centre of the tree was very dark dense and with the contrast between the well lit outer edge and the dark centre it looks like I darkened the background, but I didn't. I think if you look closely you can still see some green of the inner tree on the right of the bird. Taken late afternoon, no flash.
