Ann, Melissa - Thank you for your comments. I probably should have added a little description. This is a hunchback whale that was spotted in the Pacific waters off of Costa Rica. This is not a doctored photo. It really got that close to the boat. This was a real treat for us. Even the boat crew were impressed with the show. I just continued shooting. Thanks, Susan! I have been on many whale watches too and almost brought the "cheap" camera instead of my Canon Rebel. I already had enough photos of barely distinguishable whale backs. Needless to say, I am glad I brought the good camera with the good lens. #7125430kurt Anderson February 04, 2009
