Those eyes are mesmerizing! Tomorrow it will be a week since we had power here in Bull Shoals
Arkansas due to a recent ice storm, No clean drinking water, and of
course the internet, tv and all other luxuries most of us take for
granted are also gone for now. What I wouldn't do for a hot shower!!!
Most people couldn't even get out of their homes due to fallen
electrical wires and fallen tree limbs. It looks like a war zone. We have
been heating our home with a propane fireplace. I was fortunate enough
to purchase a generator three days ago that had been shipped to the
store that I work at. 12 were purchased even before the truck could make
it in from Missouri. Ice and propane are at a premium as well as
batteries and candles. Power is finally being restored to the business
district of my little town so groceries can be purchased but most people
don't have power to store the food properly. Our car was pushed off the
side of the mountain hill as we were trying to get to the bigger town
for supplies for the people in our neighborhood when this all started.
The cars could not navigate on the glare ice Thank goodness we were not
in it. Trying to help the guy in back of us who got into trouble
teetering on the edge of the steep hill before he got up the mountain.
Please let everyone know that I am fine and looking forward to getting
back online as soon as possible. The weather is warmer so the ice has
melted and the crews are working feverishly to restore power. God
Bless, Kaye B
Am saving this as a draft to sent as soon as our server is up and running.
P.s. Yes, power is back on, but the wind has kicked up making it difficult for the crews to get electricity back to the reminder of the city. The trees were the worst hit by the storm. Most of my wins were of the beautiful trees here in Arkansas. I hope to get out by the end of the month to shoot again after getting back to some normalcy. Now for that HOT shower........
