Moon on January 10

Lorna Shutter January 17, 2009

Nice shot of the moon, Marilyn! Did you use a tripod or was this a handheld image? The moon in my gallery is quite similar in colour to yours! I notice when other people shoot the moon, their's is usually more greyish. I love how you got the birds in there and the rooftop to give it perspective! There were some nights here when the moon looked gigantic and so low! It's so awesome to see, isn't it?! :) #1069596

Hello Lorna! I did not use a tripod, just handheld. Caught it right at sunset to capture the shadows and colors. In the later photos, all the shadows were lost and you are right, the colors changed to just a plain 'ol moon! Lucky shot. Birds were flying in the sky and I had a friend who kept saying 'now shoot'. This was so helpful. #7046539

Clear skies in Florida allowed this photo of the moon which was brighter and closer than normal.
