Description

Death Valley National Park, California.

This is only steps from one of the most popular viewpoints in the park, yet as I've experienced so many times in the parks, I've never seen photos taken from this perspective. Of course I had to descend a slot canyon and climb down a 12' dry waterfall, then find another way out after dark... but now I know the easy way to get there.

Check out my blog (www.MyPhotoGuides.com) for more photos from my recent adventures.

If you consider a packaged tour to Death Valley, make sure that it includes Eureka Dunes and The Racetrack, that you can see the leader's own photos so you can judge his or her qualifications, and that those photos do not rely mainly on unusual weather that you might not have during your visit. A good tour leader is there to help you capture nice photos, not show you a few unusual moments that they experienced over many years of visits.

Exif: F Number: 23, ExposureTime: 32/1 seconds, ISO: 200, FocalLength: 10.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 40D
