Description

Morning frost on Eureka Dunes, Death Valley National Park.

The dunes are among the tallest in the United States, yet they are isolated enough from the rest of the park that I've never seen a Death Valley photography tour that visits them, even though the site is one of the most photogenic in the park.

Visit my Death Valley set (or my blog) for more photos from my recent adventures. If you consider a packaged tour to Death Valley, make sure that it includes Eureka Dunes and The Racetrack, that you can see the leader's own photos so you can judge his or her qualifications, and that those photos do not rely mainly on unusual weather that you probably won't experience during your own visit. A good tour leader is there to help you capture nice photos, not show you a few unusual moments that they experienced over many years of visits.
