Umbrella Man

This shot was taken in downtown Nashville, TN a few days ago. I was getting ready to leave my parking spot and it started to sprinkle rain. I saw the man put up his umbrella and I had to get a shot. Since the original photo had no color to it, I decided to give it the works in photoshop. I added several filters, lighting effects, adjusted in curves, added noise, used various PS brushes and topped it off with a panoramic crop. Guess that's my recipe!

I really like "the works" you gave this in PS. The texture of the tree branches and the rocks allow it to handle your effects well. Your lighting brings my eye right to the man with the umbrella as does the composition. Very nicely presented, Cheryl! #1064696Cheryl E. Davis January 09, 2009

I really love the mood of this image, Cheryl. You've done an incredible job here; the composition, the lighting, the textures and the way you've cropped it make this one my favorite from your entries this month, although I must admit I also loved "Soft and Furry" and was sorry to have to choose only one. Wonderful work, Cheryl!!!Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
