Wonderful image. I love the lighting and the bright white...do you mind if I ask what type of backdro you used? I really like this. #1150153

Beautiful Portrait, I too was wondering what you used as a backdrop. #1150190

Thanks everyone... I use a White Vinyl backdrop from Backdropoutlet.com. Its easy to clean, easy to transport and easy to remove wrinkles (throw it in the dryer for 30 minutes) I purchased it off of ebay for $99. It has outlasted seemless paper at least 10 times and it is still going strong. #1150202

Love the clean whites and the composition is great. What was your lighting setup??? #1150213

I was looking at this EXACT same vinyl background on ebay a few days ago!! I had emailed the company asking them how durable this material was. And here is my answer!! This is so weird! But your gallery has convinced me that this backdrop is what I want! Your results are GREAT!! I ditto Raquel's question about your lighting set-up. #1150754

Thanks again everyone... Here is my simple setup:

I have an AlienBee B800 with a large softbox as my main light (www.alienbees.com) I meter this light with a hand held Sekonic 358 meter (usually 1/125th sync @ f/8). I have a B400 as my background light for high key (I meter a stop or more over the main light, usually at f/11 or f/16). I use either a Nikon SB-28 Speed flash for my fill light, or I might use a large Reflector...

I hope this information helps...

Hi Bryan!
I noticed that I've already commented 3 times or so on this thread but I have one more question. I actually did get that same vinyl backdrop that you use as well and have found that it picks up dirt very easily. You mention that you throw it in the dryer to get the wrinkles out. How about getting it cleaned? Do you ever throw it in the washing machine?? I have my backdrop in the lauandry room at this very moment but had been wanting to ask you first before I went ahead and did it :o) Thanks in advance for any info!

Susana,

I have never washed it... I just clean it with either 409spray, or any kitchen counter spray. I havent had any problems with it picking up dirt. I have been using it for over a year, and its still holding up. Good Luck! #1472181

Thanks once again Bryan for getting back to me with this info!! I'll try the 409 spray :o) #1473412
