Description

I have vague memories of this
old farmstead from when I was a child.
Although I was born in Colorado
I had relatives that lived here
and we would visit. Long before I
married my husband, his family ended
up buying this property along with
acreage and it is now a part of a
1000 acre patch on our farm.
This was taken at sunset.

Although this place is an eye-sore...
I'm glad that the family hasn't
chosen to clean the place up.
It's fun and interesting to go
poking through the place during
harvest in the summer as it's beside this old shack where I park the wheat trucks...certainly passes the time!!

Beautiful capture of this old place, Jeana! Great story and funny how things work out. My mom's dad had several thousand acres north of Tribune but he died when she was very young and due to the dust bowl and depression, they had to sell the land to pay the taxes. If I remember right they got 7¢ an acre which just paid the taxes but mom still has the mineral rights so maybe someday. Keep the great images coming....Denny #6851201

The farmable acres totals approx.
3000 acres...we also have about 1000
in the CRP grass program.
