Sweet Pea

Description

Unusually shaped bottle. I'm trying this one, again, for the Monthly Theme. It's one of my favorites.

Used my new close-up lens for the first time. This is an old perfume bottle that belonged to my daughter's namesake, her great-great grandmother; it has a sticker on the back that says "SWEET PEA."

Kim- I think your off to a wonderful start with your gallery. I like the array of subjects and you have an eye for seeing the photo op in what I think are unique things like your route 66 sighs for example.
I like this antique bottle. Simple, yet artful. Sometimes a picture is something that hold value and is special to a person for a personal reason. I am glad you included the story behind the picture. It makes it that much more interesting. We all need to learn to do that more.
Lighting and clarity excellent. Colors and features outstanding.
Keep playing, experimenting.
Love what you have so far. #1012099

Frank - Thank you for visiting my gallery and for your kind and inspiring words...you made my day!

I photographed this bottle to hang it in my daughter's room - she never met her great-great grandma, but, when she was born, was given this bottle and another plain bottle that had belonged to her. The perfume is still strong - the scent wafts out of the bottle where it is broken and perfumes the whole box in which it is kept. #6566116

Great close-up! Love the shadow. If you find out more about this bottle -- like the date, what kind of perfume it held, whether it was a tie-in with a well known character, etc. -- I'd love to know. #6590475

Hi Kim, and welcome to BP!!
I have to mirror what Frank D. said above. You've got a neat eye for the unique and that's so kewl to see. I think you did a bang-up job on this image. The way the shadow is angled is SUPER and adds even more interest to the image and subject.
Keep shooting. You've found an excellent place to showcase your craft with a wealth of information and a ton of super people that are willing to help you along this bumpy ride.
Congrats on your EP!!!! #6767119
