I took this with a 100mm macro lens, the aperture wide open to 2.8 for nice, round hightlights, 1/60 sec.

Description

This is a shot I took for Bryan Peterson's Understanding Exposure course. I couldn't figure out how to incorporate the in camera effect of "spectacular highlights" into a shot until I saw my son playing with his action figures. He was my inspiration for this scene, in which Superman, Batman and Robin confer on an alien planet while mysterious lights glow behind them.
I took this with a 100mm macro lens, the aperture wide open to 2.8 for nice, round hightlights, 1/60 sec.
