Description

Taken in a havily planted wood the light levels were very low. The bird stayed long enough for a burst of around 10 frames before flying away. I used a sigma 150-500 OS lens set at 500mm and 6.3, iso 1250 and still could only manage a shutter speed of 1/40th sec! Only the second outing with the new camera and lens and I'm very happy with the results so far.

Exif: F Number: 6.3, Exposure Bias Value: -0.33, ExposureTime: 1/40 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 1250, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 500.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 40D

Beautiful capture!
Just got this lens... can't wait for the rain to let up so I can take it for a spin!
This image gives me a lot of encouragement that I made the right choice when picking the Sigma!
