If this doesn't get a grand prize, I'll eat my camera. Breathtaking Grayce. Absolutely breathtaking. SUPER WOWWY. This photograph makes me hyperventilate. #17979

Definitely a winner, I hope not grand prize, though, not because it doesn't deserve it, but because I want to see Bernie eat his camera! #38950

Thank you everyone, for your encouraging and appreciative comments. This was a fun picture to do. It's actually part of a series of slinky pics I did.
I'm so glad they are appreciated by my peers, whom I respect greatly.
Many thanks!

Well, I'm eating my camera - the old one, not the new. Congratulations Grayce. #55700

Stanley C. Sims May 26, 2019

I also love this photo, as I am into the abstract thing. It is stunning, to say the least.
My question is, what kind of slinky is this? So many colors.
Was it put together a certain way?
I hope you answer these questions.
Again, it is superb !!!!! #56240

I bought this colorful slinky as it is. It's rainbow colored. I simply posed it on my table and used some clamp lights with 60 watt bulbs, from above.
Thanks for all the nice comments.

P.S. I did tweak the contrast and saturation as well as unsharp mask in PS. #56285

Grayce...I am soooooo envious!! I think it should get grand too! Super duper, outstanding, cool, awesome...there just aren't enough superlatives to describe this shot! #56304

Stanley C. Sims May 26, 2019

Thanks Grayce for answering my questions about the slinky. The colors are outstanding.
I know nothing about PS right now, except what I see on sites like this.
I love this photo, keep up the very good work. #56324

So I was waiting to see the finalists. And I saw this. Well to my surprise its such a simular shot to mine. Here is the link to the one I posted on Photosig back in December,

http://www2.photosig.com/viewphoto.php?id=513210

I posted this shot on this site as well in this photo contest.

I would like some feedback on mine. Seems strange. Anyway. Thats it.

This photo is nice, I like the crop, and teh colors. Too bad that the colors are intertwined on the right. I taped mine together so that this wouldnt happen. It gives it the seemless look! #56810

Grayce Pedulla Dillon May 26, 2019

Hi Paul, Your image is beautiful! Great minds think alike eh? LOL
You also commented on Photosig about mine and asked if you were the inspiration for my picture. If you were I'd be happy to let you know. I'm sorry, but as soon as I laid eyes on this slinky in the store, I knew I'd photograph it. I did about 40 different shots of it, or so.
While your image is inspiring, I never saw it before I did mine.
As the Bible says "There is nothing new under the sun."
Best of luck, and happy shooting! :-)

Good to hear! I had the same thought when I saw my slinky as well. What a simple and great subject, full of color and fun. Hope you win with the shot! Keep shooting. #57036

Wolfgang Dolak May 26, 2019

Looks like a no. 1!! Really great!
Congratulations and good luck - should go all the way!

Congratulations on finals, Grayce! Awesome shot! I love the cross over of lines and colors, the light that emanates from within, and how the coils seem to jump right out of the photo!
