This is beautiful, Bill. I like your description, esp. the part about ..."what lurks below..." I always think about that, too, when I see the swamps and bayous. One time I wad driving down Airline Hwy on my way up to Laplace, and on the side of the road where the I310 crosses over, there waa a huge alligator just sunning himself on the concrete bottom part below the bridge.
