Needles

Uploaded: July 03, 2008

Description

I cannot remember which waterfall this shot was taken by, though I do remember it was huge. I saw this backlit pine tree with its tufts of long needles and then simultaneously noticed the fine backlit spray thrown out by the tremendous force of the falls. I realized that a medium shutter speed could cause that backlit water spray to stretch out into long needles of light which would echo that of the pine tree.Contax ST 80-200 zoom, f/6.3 at 1/60 sec, Provia 100.
