Transitions

Everything tangible, it can be said, is in a state of transiton. A photograph, though a static visual represention of a moment in time and space, can offer the perception of transition. Within seconds (and certainly in hours) virtually every "pixel" of reality here will have changed. The gull's plumage and position, the breaking wave and pool of water, the sand and stones and the morning's storm cloud-filtered sunlight will never again find themselves in this arrangement. To be able to capture and thus share that is the true wonder of photography for me.

Exif: F Number: 5.6, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/320 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 400, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 300.00 mm, Model: NIKON D40

Wonderful, Michael! The background is fantastic, and you seem to have caught the soul of this bird. Your stories with your pictures are also so enjoyable. #5834299

I love your WORMS EYE VIEW here, Micheal! I really enjoyed what you wrote about it as well. Like my nephew says, "People change, things change".

Nothing really ever stays the same I guess. 'Cept moms cooking! Ha! ...(and thats debatable, too!!!)

My Dad was a professional photographer and he'd always say that a good photograph as a foreground, a mid section and a backdrop. He noticed a lot of people would forget "foreground".

He'd have loved this shot. It's perfection. -Laura Swan ~DRU~ #5840892

I love your point of view and I'm transformed as you said into the place in time your words make it easier to imagine myself there. Beautiful image, even more beautiful thoughts/feelings in your words. #5852764
