Nicely done. The ripples seem to move and the color is spot on. How fast was your shutter speed? #14309

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. My digital camera (Fujifilm Finepix 2800) doesn't let me control shutter speed - It's all automatic. #26919

Fantastic Debi, the way the ripples catch the light make for a very interesting image, I found myself looking at this for ages. Postition of the swan is just right too. #26939

I had a Fuji 2800Z for awhile. It was a nice little 2MP point and shoot. Here is an example from my Colorado trip in August. I switched to the Canon A40 because it has full manual mode and excepts add on lenses at about the same cost as the 2800. #27044

Thanks, Mark. I don't think I ever noticed the ripples swans make before - now that I take my camera with me wherever I go, I see things I never saw before.

Gorgeous photo, Lem. Someday I hope to get out west and see all those amazing sites. About the Canon A40, does it have as much zoom as the 2800Z? I'm asking because my camera broke recently, and will cost $180 to fix, so I'm considering just gettting a new one. But I really love the zoom and I know it's hard to find a 6X optical zoom on an not-too-expensive camera. The manual and add-on lenses would be nice, but I am really a beginner and not ready to use them yet anyway. I'd like to stick with smart media cards, b/c I already have them (and the card reader). #27047

I mixed up the 2800 and the 2400Z models, Debi. Mine was the 2400Z with a 3X optical zoom. I see now that yours has a 6X optical. The Canon Powershot A40 also has a 3X optical zoom.
$180 for repairs sounds serious since the camera only costs around $270 to replace. What about the warranty? Aren't you covered?
The Fuji 3800 is just like yours, with a 3MP sensor added. I've seen it advertised recently at around $300. Olympus offers 6X with their C-700/720/730 models. They are a bit more expensive, starting around $300 for the 700 and over $400 for the 730. #27056
