If you love birds and/or the sea shore then perhaps you have read Henry Beston's "The Outermost House". If by chance you have not then I highly recommend it. One of my favorite quotes is from that work and I have temporarily replaced my gallery header with it. This photograph was shot out on Miami's South Beach (a long way from Beston's Cape Cod) in color but I thought a B&W version would in someway be an appropriate tribute to his style of writing. Enjoy!

I'm going to have to check that book out... and this is a great bird pic, the gull and the wave are placed perfectly for this shot! #5687786Michael S. Lazarus March 24, 2008
Thank you Aimee and Christine for your wonderful comments. Christine, I actually downloaded the audio book from audible.com (if you have a platinum plan the price of books is less than $10 and they are great if you have a long commute/trip or traffic like on Miami's roadways). His writing is like poetry and listening to his elaborate descriptions of wildlife and the elements of the Cape Cod region seems like music.
