Clover Butterfly

Uploaded: October 08, 2004

Description

While taking photos in my favorite botanical garden my eyes saw a "butterfly" inside of this leaf...
There were two images combined to create this image, one of clover leaves and another of a butterfly. Everything was done in Adobe Photoshop CS.

WOW!! What a find, Monika! This is beautiful and the butterfly has beautiful colors and patterns same color as the green leaves. I have never seen a butterfly this color before. Awesome detail and lighting Outstanding shot and capture! #176694

Robin! You made me smile...I think you missed the description of my photo so I’m sorry to tell you that I created this “butterfly”! Anyway I am so glad you took a look and wrote to me! Thank you!

Monika,

This is a great picture and you have a "good eye". I have just started using PS, CS myself; still a beginner.

Monika Sapek October 08, 2004

Thank you so much for your nice comments, Rosanne and Ellen! I must tell you that Robin’s comment gave me some thoughts about my skills in PS ;-), but I still have a lot to learn in this program! I would like to make some progress in it, but I know myself – long sitting and studding only makes me dizzy...too much unknown words for someone who is still learning English ;-).

Awesome creation Monika! Terrific idea, colors and PS work!! I'm surprised Adobe doesn't make PS CS in many languages or are you using it to help learn English? There are so many exceptions, double meaning words, slang, etc. I don't see how anyone learns English that didn't grow up with it :0) #830640

Monika Sapek October 08, 2004

Hi, Murry! Maybe there are PS programs in different languages, but I use an English version. Because I started to learn about photography and writing in English almost at the same time, about two years ago, I learned many words about it in English and I even didn’t try to translate them into my own language ;-). It wasn’t necessary. And I’m really fine with it, until when I want to do something new, different and I’m looking into “PS help”, while reading some explanations. “Help” makes me sometimes screaming for help. LOL…I guess I must be the first person who learned English that way? ;-)
I’m happy you enjoyed my “butterfly” image! Thanks, Murry!

Monika, I just looked back at your post in which you say that you began learning English AND PS only 2 years ago. I am stunned! Your English skills are excellent, and I hardly need to say that your PS and camera skills are, too! Wow! #832581

Congratulations on your POTD Monika and also on your rapidly improving skills in English! Don't feel badly about not being able to understand Photoshop's Help instructions. I've known English all my life, and I can't understand them either. I found much more understandable instructions in a book I purchased and in other online tutorials. #893163

Dolores Neilson November 06, 2004

Monika...this is a testament to your creativity and vision. Your "butterfly" is artfully created. I understand the struggles of learning English....I didn't know any English until a 2nd year in grammar school 40 years ago~! As one gets older, learning a language is even more difficult! I am impressed with your PS skills and your English!! And always enjoy viewing your work. #893203

I want to thank so much for all your wonderful comments on this image, everyone! I am truly honored to receive so many and touched by your kindness!
I spent a couple of hours putting this image together. I’ve had everything in my mind for a long time, but when I started to work on it, the mistakes that I made during the process made me redo this again and again. It was fun to do and I am really glad you this image caught your attention!
Wishing you a wonderful rest of the weekend and once again thank you for your great comments that made my day really special!
