Hi Tiia and Kay, thank you for stopping by and commenting so nicely on this image.

The Verrazano Bridge connects Brooklyn with Staten Island here in New York City. The directional view in this image is due South East.

The body of water that flows between SI and Bklyn is called the Verrazano Narrows and runs into upper NY Bay. If you could look all the way to the right in the picture you would be able to see the tip of Manhatten.

Now that is probably more info than you needed or even wanted to know but... well, I just couldnt help it! (smile)

Glad for the info, Norm! Fantastic details! What is it that is floating under the bridge? #5418288

Kimi, the pile of rocks to the left of the picture are the base around the columns that support the bridge on the Bklyn side.

Hey Norm is that a Coney Island Whitefish I see floating in the water??? I have photographed this location myself about 25 years ago. I'm a Brooklyn boy, Canarsie, Sheepshead Bay, and Brighton Beach. Don't miss NY, Broward County felt like home from the first time I visited Pompano Bch., long before I moved to SoFla. One of my favorite spots to shot up there is Cross Bay Island and from the South Cross Bay Bridge and surrounding area. If you haven't shot there you should check it out, although things may have changed since I was there last. That would be before 1991 when I became a Florida cracker. #5788788
