Reflections on the Potomac

Uploaded: January 14, 2008

Description

This is a combination of three shots of the same scene to expand the dynamic range. I did it manually, so I don't know whether it can be called "High Dynamic Range" or HDR. The bridge and its reflection are a 30s exposure brightened further in RAW conversion, the middle is a 15s exposure, and the Kennedy Center (the bright horizontal building on the right side) is a 4s exposure.

Toss in some sharpening, a little noise reduction, and a bit of contrast enhancement, and you get this result.

The shoreline alone would make a great shot. Framing the shorline with the bridge makes this an outstanding photo. Well done. #5528741

photo!! If you look at it from a different point of view, it reminds me of a reflection in one's eye. Nice gallery. #6962630
