Into the Night

Uploaded: January 06, 2008

Description

Three shots of one sunset over Washington, DC, composited using layer masks with gradients so it fades from the daylight shot through the dusky one to night.

From left to right, the buildings are the U.S. Capitol, the Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial.

This is facing east from the Iwo Jima Memorial.

Sunset was at 5:00 pm. All three images were shot at F/11 and ISO 100, but I varied the shutter.
Shot 1: 2s, 5:08 pm
Shot 2: 10s, 5:25 pm
Shot 3: 10s, 5:40 pm
