Description

This proud Aboriginal woman lives in remote Arnhem land Australia. Look into her eyes and you see sadness and longing for a land and culture that is being eroded. Look at the face and you see the lines of time, a lifetime of struggle. Look at the body and you see the soul a strong spirited woman.

She tells a hard story, nice capture, did she pose ? Or was it taken from afar ? #811126

I was close to her, she is only 70 but looks much older. She prefers to lay on the ground on a blanket, than sit in a chair. I was sitting amongst the women in a womens hut. Her daughter asked me to take her photo. Whilst she did look at me and pose, I waited till she relaxed and forgot I had a camera. Even though she looks very sad, she laughed and smiled a lot and held my hands. #5226052
