I was talking to my parents on the phone when I saw this photo and I made them get online to look at it! We all think it's simply beautiful. How did you get such a great shot? #11341

Hi Ruth,
I'm flattered by your comment, thank you and thank your parents as well! How cool that you and your parents look at the site together! Well, to answer your question, I found a wonderfully cooperative swan at the Denver Zoo...He was napping on a rock up by the fence and so I snapped away, taking lots of different exposures, using several different f-stops. I really wanted to make sure that the feathers weren't overexposed and I could see detail in them! The weather also cooperated with me tremendously, (it was a bright but overcast day)
