Red Deer Stag
Uploaded: November 09, 2007
Taken just after sunrise on an Autumn morning in a park not to far from the centre of London. The sun had just started to burn off the dawn mist. This chap was sizing up another, much bigger male hoping to get near a harem of females called hinds under his protection. During the rut the females are in season and only the fittest and strongest stags will win the right to mate with them so many fights break out.
