Lightness of Being
Uploaded: October 27, 2007
This is a plastic plant thing that has lots of little spiky fibers. The background colors come from some of my daughters' stickers I just put on the desk behind the fake plant.
Lighting was from a window behind and a couple of lamps above. The water came from a spray bottle.
I used various macro tricks on this: a remote shutter cable and mirror lockup mode to avoid vibrations, plus extension tubes on a normal lens to get macro-level magnification. With 68mm of extension, my 50mm gets about 1.4:1.
Editing was minimal: selective sharpening on the droplets, a little deepening of the blacks using a selective color adjustment layer, and some noise reduction.
