Plucking up courage

Uploaded: October 24, 2007

Description

A young red deer stag watches for an oppertunity to try and mate with a group of females being gaurded by a much bigger male. Shortly after this was taken all hell broke loose when the youngster finaly got a bit to close and the dominant male chased him directly in my direction causing me to beat a hasty retreat. Taken shortly after dawn on a crisp, misty and sunny Autumn morning.

Excellent work Mark. The lighting and focus are just perfect and pick him out beautifully. I like how he pokes out from the sea of bracken. This deserves to make the finals at the very least. #4973243

Now this is one that doesn't come along very often Mark ( those ??? things are always standing on the trees like that trying to get at the leaves ) You caught the light and this Buck so beautifully in the wild. Awesome capture!! #6812847
