Great shot of this bird drying up its wings, Bill! Womderful pose and capture!
In Costa Rica we call these a "pato aguja" which translates as "needle duck". The reason they stand like this drying up in the sun, is because they lack some kind of oil that most acuatic birds have in their wings, so they actually feel wet. #4969869
