Praying mantis who asked me to take her picture (really !... see discussion). Indoor sunlight only. Levels adjusted in PSP8.

I captured this praying mantis in my garden. She was very cooperative; posing for several shots in my sunroom … I will post more later. The only problem was a tendency to jump on the camera when it was very close. For the next ten or so days, I will be visiting my daughter, who lives just west of the middle of nowhere. The internet connection is painfully slow. So, I don’t know how much I’ll be able to upload or to comment on this site. But, the good news is that I hope to get a lot of new shots of my grandson. #151849

The mantis is my favorite insect and I spent days last summer photographing one in my garden. I wish I had a shot as wonderful as this for my efforts. You did a fine job. I think the key is to isolate, as you have done here. Congrats Wally! #707147
