Denise, This is beautiful. The contrasting texture and color of foreground and background are supurb. A nice story is told here. Very nice work.. #9033

Delores, That is a closer example of what an f/6 or 8 would look like in my book.... #14398

Denise,

This is a phenomenal shot!
The sunflowers against the blurred background really makes them stand out.
Beautifully done!

Wow! Thank you all for your nice comments. Jim and I met up with Bryan Peterson in France a few years ago and this is one of the shots I got with my Pentax 645 (medium format) camera.

I have ulterior motives when it comes to photography. I tend to look for shots that I think will make good paintings. When I get the photos developed I get pick out my favorites, and spend some time pushing oil paints around with big brushes in my "studio" (a.k.a. - our very cold garage). #202852

I LOVE art. Did you make an oil painting of this photo? I'd love to see it. Thanks, Judy :) #203746

That makes sense Denise. This image has a little bit of a Van Gogh influence. In fact, every time that I shoot an image with sunflowers in it I think of Vincents beautiful work. He was one of my personal favorite artists next to Salvador Dali!

You should have a gallery of your artwork here on betterphoto with the photograph that inspired you to paint each painting.
I am an artist too. I wish that I still had all of the artwork that I painted years ago for a gallery like that. I'd LOVE to see some of your artwork!! #203785
