Very striking portrait capture of this handsome guy, Helen!! I wouldn’t have the guts to take a picture of him when he’s carrying that deadly weapon. LOL. #676874Helen N. McHugh June 20, 2007

Whenever I see pics of heavily armed soldiers protecting 'the people' of their city, I am humbled and grateful for the privilege of living in America! Excellent pic of this handsome young man, Helen! #4416969Lani J June 22, 2007
He certainly did seem willing! Wow... I'm with Susana, I don't know if I'd have had the nerve to ask! But, I'm certainly glad you did! Wonderful portrait :) #4422530Megan p June 29, 2007

I really like this photo. Being a guy, I do have an extended appreciation of military compositions. The soldier does exhibit some happiness about the moment :) Great photo. #4519462Helen N. McHugh July 17, 2007
Thank you Pat, Lani, Megan, Ross & Steven for your great comments! When someone is carrying a gun I would not normally ask for their photograph !!! but ,I knew I would probably never go back to Istanbul again & he just looked so handsome I had to ask! We communicated by sign language.. judging by that wry smile I think he was flattered! #4519500Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
