Skye Light

Uploaded: June 15, 2007

Description

Location: Quiraing, Skye, Scotland. To make the best use of first light breaking over the Quiraing on the Isle of Skye I had to get to my location prior to sunrise. In summer that's 4am. The sky turned the most gorgeous mix of pink and magenta topped off with bright orange as the sun neared the event horizon. I realized that although I could clearly see the sheep grazing on the sculpted plateau in front of me, Velvia was going to struggle. I fit 5 stops of ND grad to control the contrast differential to an acceptable level.<
