Sun Sink Nairn

Uploaded: May 23, 2007

Description

Location: By Nairn, Highlands, Scotland. This is only the second occasion I have seen this effect. The orb of the sun has dropped into the cool dense mist of the sea forming over the coast of the Moray Firth turning it a fiery orange color which subsequently turned blood red. I hope that this might be selected for a strong graphic front cover shot in a glossy magazine. Pentax 67 II, 200mm lens, Fujichrome Velvia F11 at 1/4 sec, 0.9ND grad filter to hold contrast levels.

Terrific, capture, Ian! I've actually stopped at Nairn briefly on the way to Inverness. A beautiful place and you have captured this scene wonderfully. #4316653
