LOL - What a great story! Wonder what the twin towers were thinking about you about that time? :) That aside, this is a gorgeous photo Allan! Stunning composition, lovely lighting and beautiful color! Love it -K #123619

Carolyn M. Fletcher level-classic May 02, 2004

No doubt in my mind what they were thinking! "Where's the DUCK?" LOL
A new years evey horn, huh? That's a pretty good idea. Would get their attention for sure. #514479

Colleen Braun May 02, 2004

it's a good thing there was not a security check before entering the zoo or we would be photographing you behind bars...LOL... #514483

Gianna Stadelmyer May 02, 2004

Great shot, Allan and what a terrific idea as an attention getter! I'll have to keep that in mind:-) Love this photo - the clarity, the colors, light, composition. Ver nice! #514484

Excellent image and descriptive story, Allen. Very well done! #514486

Rob Friedman May 02, 2004

Great shot Allan! Love the look on their faces! BTW, I also find that Frosted Flakes works as well to get their attention (or at least it does in those commercials). :) #514520

Kelly S. Andrews May 02, 2004

It's a beautiful photo, however it would be even better if you could blur the fence and the concrete in the lower left in PS. The cats themselves are magnificent! #514534

Kristen McKain May 02, 2004

VERY nice allan! Tigers are my favorite! #514548

Great shot of really beautiful cats, Allan. I've been out of touch. Is it true that Sirius is on hiatus? #514625

Allan L. Whitehead May 02, 2004

Thanx everybody (Kelly S, Carolyn, Colleen, Jan, Kenton, Rob, Kelly A, Kristen, Mike, Paul, Gary, and Wally) for the fantastic and hilarious comments and very kind words. You're all unbelievable. Gary, they are 2 of 3 Bengals. We also have 5 Sumatrans in another area. Wally; Sirius, with Hagrid and Hedwig (all disguised as Hippogriffs) are off on a 4 month trip to Rivendale. This is "Big Cat Week' of my "Zoo" month. I hope you're not too disappointed by Sirius's absence but I hope you'll enjoy Zoo month, eh… Allan #514662

Donna J. Taff May 02, 2004

Wonderful shot, Allan!!!! #515137

Allan L. Whitehead May 02, 2004

Thank you so much everyone (Stephen, Julie T, Claudia, Kathleen G, Lori, and Donna) and bless your little 'pea pickin' hearts, eh… I really truly dp appreciate all of you a whole bunch. Claudia, and Kathleen, these truly are magnificent creatures. Lori, I carry the horn because quite often animals and/or birds refuse to do what I want or what I ask them to do. I use the horn almost daily and (as in this photo) a small toot on the horn gets their attention, momentarily, and lets me get a shot that I might otherwise have missed. Go figure, eh, who knew… - Allan #515197

Kathleen Clemons May 02, 2004

Nice shot of the lovely couple, Allan. #515240

Lori Ditlefsen May 02, 2004

Well, I learned something new, and I will try it as I had trouble getting the animal's attention at the wildlife refuge yesterday! #515268

Allan L. Whitehead May 02, 2004

Thank you so much gils (Kathleen, Lori, Sharon, and Robin) for the great comments and very greatly appreciated kind words. Lori, I'm glad I could at least give you some insight into my sometimes weird mind, eh. I started carrying the horn in January. Ladies, maybe this can be partial payment for all the great things I've learned from all of you over the past 3 years. Thanx again - Allan #515380

Allan L. Whitehead May 02, 2004

Carol Brill May 02, 2004

You are exceedingly well prepared, Allan, and it really paid off here with this magnificent shot! You must have been a Boy Scout earlier on, bet you have a camera bag full of ingenious items like this!! #515736

Allan L. Whitehead May 02, 2004

Thanx Carol for the kind words. Guilty on all counts. My first Photography teacher, at a nite-school community college was 81 and a real character right out of 'Damon Runyon' and showed us unbelievable tricks. I was a'Scout' and when I was awarded my "Queen Scout" level, I was the youngest in the history of the province to acheive that highest accolade. But enough about that, lets talk about me for awhile… just kidding, eh… Thanx my good friend - Allan #515754

Barbara Bergeron May 02, 2004

Such beautiful and powerful animals, you have captured them well in this image Allan. Great way to attract ... they don't seem to disturbed by your noisy way. Wonderful image! #515992

Allan L. Whitehead May 02, 2004

Thank you so much, Barbara, for the kind words and insight, both of which I appreciate. My 'horn' does actually sound like a 'duck quack' and not a Car horn or Air horn. Where these guys were, from where I was, it would have been barely audible, eh… Thanx again, my friend - Allan #516035

Susan T. Evans level-classic May 02, 2004

Thanx Debra for the kind words and comments. I truly appreciate that. Wednesday I'm offering one more trick to capture animal shots with no environmental disturbance at all. You might want to check it out. Its called "The Green, Green Grass of Home". Thanx again - Allan #518079
