Detail of one daffodil in a field full of them. Wondered what the scientific name for daffodil was and found it to be Narcissus pseudonarcissus. Learn something new every day. Exposure Data: 1/1000s @ F5.3. Minor levels, saturation and sharpened in PSE4.

I saw this earlier in the Editor's First Picks. Really lovely photo--the sidelighting is great, and I love the soft colors in the background.

And here I thought I knew it all. ;) But I never knew the scientific name for daffodils was Narcissus (much less narcissus pseudonarcissus!) #642626
