My Little Chickadee
Uploaded: April 07, 2007
F/5.6, Shutter 1/500, ISO-100, Macro mode, portrait setting.
I was having myself a pity party one morning, and asked God to pull me out of it. Then I went out to fill my bird feeders, and noticed the Chestnut Backed Chickadees stayed right at the feeder while I was next to it, so I held out my hand with some seed in it and they came right to me, along with the Nuthatches. God sent these little birds to cheer me up, and it sure worked! They still come and eat from my hand daily.

That is a nice shot Dot. You could be so lucky and to manage to get that shot off as well. Nice going. Harry #633848Donna La Mattino Pagakis April 07, 2007

Love the shot, Love the story. #4141929Gary G. Stewart April 07, 2007
How cool is that? How often does a person get a macro of a wild bird. That photo alone should cheer you up. Good job Dot! #4141946Sam Britt April 07, 2007

Wow, how fantastic! Such a cute little bird too. I have heard of them getting tame enough to eat out of a hand, but never have had it happen to me! Great story and what a great way to be cheered up. Wonderful photo! #4148885Karacan Salkuci (Kalacay) April 11, 2007

What an amazing story (and awesome photo!). Isn't it neat how that is all God wants us to do... just ask. He wants us to come to Him for anything! And the blessings He gives us for doing so! Hope you are feeling better now!! Great work with the macro mode!!! #4158067Rosemary Buffoni April 13, 2007
WONDERFUL shot and gift from God.Dot K. April 13, 2007
Thanks all, once again!Jenifer, wow yes and God has been teaching me many lessons through these little birds. As the Nuthatches and Chickadees were coming to me one day, I noticed the other birds, Juncos, and Finches watching with curiosity, but still too fearfull to actually come to me. I looked up and thought.. oh how I wish they would all come to me! Then was hit with the sudden realization that that's how God is looking at all those in the world, He wishes all would come to Him, and place their trust in Him, and it fills His heart with joy when we do.
