WOW!!! This is the most awesome sky panorama I've ever seen! Your exposures were perfect on this shot! Very, very impressive scene, Patrick! I cannot understand why this did not win in last July's contest. #106903

Why thank you Gary! I kinda like it too. :-) I have had to learn to be philosophical about photo contests. Beyond a certain level of technical proficiency, it comes down to subjective judgements about the artistry, originality, or whatever. Maybe the person or persons doing the selecting were tired of sunsets. And even with seasoned professionals you will find some differences of opinion as to the merits of an individual photo. So I just try to keep at it, and try not to get too caught up in the judging process. Otherwise it drives me crazy! #106923

Inspirational is the only word. Was this done with Panoramic Factory software?

Hello Patrick,
Great shot I agree. I think there is a way to improve the shot.. Use a ND filter to darken the sky and you will have another 1-2 exposure stops to lighten the landscape. The sky is awesome, you probably would have missed it using (more) filters ;-) Keep up the good work! Best wishes from holland, Corne #4520898
