Great Shot. I like the different layers of mountains in the background and the shadow-show silhouettes in the small boat. That's funny because I have posted a very similar picture today...

Hi Everyone,
I totally I agree with the responses to this tremendous photo! In fact, this will make a great subject for BetterPhoto's "Where in the World" quiz.

Scott and I will be checking into this photo-discussion thread from time to time to see how things are going. Eventually, after the guesses are all in, we will report back with the correct answer.

Meantime, have fun posting your guesses here.

Thanks!

Very beautiful image,Scott! It looks like it might have been captured in Xingping in China?? #3531125

I agree, beautiful image. Looks like Phang Na Bay, in Thailand, near Phuket. I've been there several times and unfortunately it was rainy season and didn't get such wonderful results. #3531462

Upon closer inspection, I'd like to resubmit my guess. The out-croppings in Phang Na Bay are less dense. It does remind me of another place I've visited in Vietnam called Halong Bay. #3531537

It looks like Seward Bay, in Seward, AK to me.

If it's not, I wish it were and I was there again :)

Interesting that Kenneth W. thought that it was maybe set in Alaska. I first thought of that also, as I spent 25 years in Valdez and other Alaskan towns. I have pictures I have taken myself that look something like this. Then I looked at the boat, and thought that it may be set in the Hood Canal area, or even slightly to the east in Puget Sound. That boat (small as it is) reminds me of the river boats that are used around here (I live over at the coast west of these locations). #3532540
