Description

F22 at 1/15 sec, no polariser on a Pentax 67 II with 55-100 zoom. Velvia. Ruthven Barracks, Kingussie, Scotland.
The golden light of a winter morning illuminated the ramparts of the barracks and the grass hill on which it stands. Unusually the low lying marsh land had flooded in a major way from previous heavy storms resulting in a perfect reflection and because the water surface wasn't lit the reflection of the glowing castle was stunning especially with the dark band of brush running through the middle adding visible contrast.

Ian,

excellent blend of colors and the reflection is great. What time of day was photo taken? #3916532

Hi Mark and everybody at Betterphoto the picture was taken about a month ago around 9am. The sun was already quite high but of course being winter and far north the light is very good all day even at noon. #3916784
