Hi Carol...

I used PSP 8. I used layers, layered one image over the other and then merged the two into one. If you use PSP 8 you just need to learn how to do layers, which is not that difficult. Take a look at their manual on layers or go to the JASC web page and do a search on layers. There is a tool bar dedicated to layers. The two key components on that tool bar is view layers and merge layers. When you view layers, you can adjust the opacity of either layer, so that you can see through it just enough to expose the second one. Once you've made the adjustment to your satisfaction, you merge the two images. For this image, I had to remove some of the background of the image of my daughter to make this work nicely. Keep that in mind when you are doing this. You may not be happy with the residue of the area around your subject. The process took me several hours and many drafts. It actual procedure isn't bad, it's making the images line up and get placed properly and getting the opacity just right. I've been working on this for several weeks. I had two images that I ended up with. I'll upload the second (the one I didn't select for upload).

Thank you all for your comments! #449246

On this second image, I used the wave tool to create a wave effect at the bottom of the image. I didn't select this one as my final product, because I wasn't happy with the way the wave looked and I didn't want to intrude on the beauty of the landscape as much as this version does.

Hope that helps! #449253

Gosh...I'm sorry! I meant to address all that to Charlene B. I'm constantly confusing those "C" names!!!!!

Oh yea, I also had to adjust the brightness and contrast of my daughter's image in order to allow her left eye to show up better. On the original image, her left eye was in a shadow. That's why I thought it would be perfect here. The sun is in her right eye, the nose would create a shade from the brightness of the sun, thus I thought it gave a sense of reality to the final image. The problem was it was a bit too dark. I made the adjustment and it looks much better.

Well Charlene...I'm glad you asked how it was done. I really enjoyed sharing all that! #449270

Thank you Stan. Her eyes are actually brown. The combination of the sun and the brown eye came out blue. I think it has a mystical effect. Thanks again! #449453
