I used Photoshop to create IR-effect.

Pretty, Olga!! I would love to learn how to create the infrared effect with PS. Was it difficult? I used IR film in the past and it was a blast. #107310Paula Lechten March 15, 2004
Very beautiful effect and composition. #425559Cathy Barrows March 15, 2004
Very interesting look. How did you create the IR effect? #425561Olga Gabay March 15, 2004
Thank you all! Well, making this effect is very simple.Just open your color image in "Channel mixer" (Image - Ajustments), check "monochrome," and change all RGB settings. Blue channel must me very low (from aprox. -50% to -120%), Red and Green -20%. Click OK, remove the noise (with Smart Blur or Quantum Mechanic Pro plug-in, for example), and colorize the image a little bit in green tone. I also used dodge and burn tools to emphasize clouds and flowers. ... I also want to note that I added artificial grain in this picture, but it is not necessary. #425671

thanks to digital darkroom I found this photo, that I LOVE!!!! You have here a perfect IR photo, with the man on its bycicle, the plane in the sky, the pathway and the trees... this is GORGEOUS!She-She Killough March 18, 2004
Beautiful Olga! I was always told you had to use a deep red filter? Did you use a filter? Thanks for letting us know how you did it. That's awesome. I can't wait to try it. I used to shoot IR film but since digital I haven't done much in IR. And I have missed it.Olga Gabay March 18, 2004
Thank you Susana and She-She K.!I didn't use any filters, probably I left polarizer on my camera, but I'm not sure.
OK, I can show the original image here (resized). Here I made five basic steps:
1) Underexposuring (-0.7 EV)
2) Adding the plane from a previous shot (It realy was there, but a little earlier, then the men on the bycicle)
3) Creating IR-effect
4) Using dodge and burn tools
5) Adding noise
That's all. Very easy and no original filters :) #430308
