Heide, thank you for your lovely comment & welcome to Betterphoto!
In the original photograph the mother's shoulder was visable ,but I just wanted to show the baby's face ..hence the lighting in PS!
Filters> Render> Lighting effects.
In the Style box I chose Soft Omni..
In the Light Type..Omni. I then just moved the circle of light over the baby's face & adjusted the size of the circle, the intensity & properties to suit the image! Hope this information has been helpful to you! I will try to upload the original image for comparison! #3783295
