Thank you Helen, for stopping by and commenting on the image as well as taking the time to check out the gallery!

This and the previous image, were inspired by the concern shown for the plight of the species, by the woman who owned this beautiful Puma down in Fla.

It is basically 3 layers, a cutout of the puma's head, resized and blended into a background texture layer, then overlayed with an edited shot of the everglades taken in 2004. In between there is a lot of adjustment layers and all the other fun stuff one gets to do while working with PSCS2.(smile)

Here's to a most Healthy & Happy New Year to you & yours!

Hey Melissa, Bill, Vladan & Linda!

Thanks for checking this image out and for the nice comments regarding it.

I actually got to get real close and personal with this puma or as it's called in Florida, Panther. Of course it was restrained and in a rather comical looking harness which was kind of sad as it is such a magnificent animal and rather larger than most people think.

The lady who cared for the panther ran a small and badly in need of support animal shelter for species indigenious to the area and seemed to genuinely care for her charges.

As my wife and I were listening to her lecture, I noticed that the ground was rather mushy and looked behind to see that we were just several feet from a small lagoon in which several large gators lay watching! (gasp)

I really like the blending you've done here, Norm. Beautiful subtlety.

I was surprised when I saw this image. I was sure he was looking directly at me in the previous image. I guess it just feels that way when you have an animal this large peering out of some bushes.
