Hi Elaine,
Great pic, I can see this appearing in a brochure or something similar.

Good work! :) #9103

I agree this shot could be used by the public relations department of the school. It's a timeless image. Great job! #9117

Elaine, I absolutely love this image. Thought I had commented earlier, but better late than never, I guess. The red uniforms make the shot, IMHO. Red is vibrant and exciting. These kids' emotions say "red" to me. Excellent exposure and composition, too. Kudos for getting close!

Elaine-
This is without question one of those images that sells and sells and sells-a really and truly classic stock photo of children and their innocence-
All my best-

Elaine, Everything worked out great for this shot. But without the depth of field it would not be the shot it is.
Difficult subjects to get to do and compose like you want. Though a good deal of the time sometime this can be luck. Never the less great shot you took. Vic #9828

Hi, my name is Angela Ostle and I’m a programmer for the Center for Student Empowerment Center at Central Washington University. I’m putting together a program for our “Stop the Hate” program. We want to use your pictures as a means to portray the song “This Land is Your Land.” The pictures would represent the different life styles, ethnicity, cultures, etc. that live in America. If we could use this photo for our program, of course giving you full recognition, we would really appreciate it. You can email me at ecenter@cwu.edu or ostlea@cwu.edu if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for displaying your art work.

Thank you,
Angela Ostle

Thanks for all your kind comments. In the two years this photo has been posted, I've gotten a couple of requests to use this picture for promotions of various non-profit type urban programs. While I'm supportive of such programs, this photo was taken as a part of a college photojournalism course and I do not feel comfortable allowing third parties to use it without the explicit consent of the school or the children's parents. The school was given the images for use in its own promotions; I wouldn't want to undercut that. Thank you for your understanding! #1184547

I've just seen this for the first time and think its great - I could see it a million more and it would still make me smile! Very well done! #6166512
