I'm not sure what kind of post processing was done, if any but I like the soft feeling of this image. It almost makes one feel like a storm may be on the horizon. And this is acconplished without the benefit of the sky, which is great. Very moody and lonely feeling. Great job, Carol! #3658242

Rachel E. Slepekis December 02, 2006

I agree with Gary, this is really beautiful! I think you did very well with it! I love it : ) #3658481

Gary and Kristi, I used the Orton technique on this photo. And Gary, just as I was about to snap this, a strong wind blew, and blew the spanish moss around. It was a really cloudy day and these trees were so huge and with all the spanish moss, it made it quite dark under the trees. These trees were so beautiful all draped with the moss! And the picnic table allows you to see just how big the trees were. And the leaves on the ground show that even FL gets a little autumn, although a little late! :)

Willard, nice to see you around again! Thanks much for your kind comment!

Rachel, Shawn and Mike, thank you so much for looking and for your words of encouragement. I wanted to see if anything needed to be changed before entering it in the contest, so I think I will tonight!

Beautifully evocative image, and you're right, the bench at the bottom gives great perspective and interest to the pic. Great timing with the wind :) #3703780

Carol Teal December 14, 2006

Robyn, I appreciate your kind comment! I had to finally get the wind because I took so many photos of this that it was bound to happen! :) These trees were just so big and beautiful too! #3703915

Carol Teal February 25, 2007

Thanks so much Steve, even though I know it isn't quite as colorful as you normally like (grin). I do have a more colorful version in my gallery that I reworked (and had entered in this months' contest so will have to delete it now) because I thought it might need a little more color. #3993989

This is beautiful, Carol. It has a dark and moody feel to it like something bad is fixing to happen, such as a storm. I like the Orton technique and the softness of this. Congrats on this finalist. #4025527

Carol Teal March 05, 2007

Thank you so much Karen! I don't think a storm came that day, but it was windy and very cloudy as if one was brewing! #4025722
