Thanks for your kindness Donna. No filter was used in capturing this image. For exposure I zoomed in on horse body and manually set shutter speed and f-stop. With a longer lens you can use your cameras meter as a spot meter (3 to 5 degree reading) If your really serious about capturing correct readings Study Ansel Adams publications and invest in a spot meter and grey cards and practice. I highly recommend the pentax spot meter 5. Hope this helps. Newer cameras today have advanced metering systems which almost replace the need for spot meters except in shots like Daylight where even the best metering systems can be fooled... You can always bracket your shots to be safe. Better to use a few frames of film then lose a shot that may never offer itself again. Dennis B.
