Rhonda,

I love this picture. I love just looking at the moon and have wanted to get a picture of it but have yet to buy a telescope and the adapters to fit my camera. Wonderful picture. Keep up the good work.

Mike, thank you so much for your comments. I am really glad that you like it. I know just what you mean. I kept wanting to get a good photo of the moon and it would just come out like a blob. I am really happy with the set up that I have - it works really well.
Thanks again.

Rhonda, unless I missed it, would you review what your setup is? I suppose with this subject you use both camera and scope on infinity? But what can you tell us about the practical issues of using the 995 in this way.
Yours,
Paul

Hi Paul,
I am sorry for the very long delay. I am going from memory on this so bare with me. I did use the 995 on a special made mount that also held the spotting scope. I remember adjusting the scope to bring the moon in as close as I could. As for the camera I was in manual mode, working with different shutter speeds. And of course a very steady tripod.
I have to be honest with you. After I got the moon shots that I wanted, I did not take any more photos with that setup. It was really a pain to carry around the different things and it really needed a tremendous amount of light and there could not be one single movement at all. It is really a neat setup if you don't mind the extra time that goes into it.
I hope this helps and again I am sorry for the delay.
Thanks again.
